Another Round

LFC favorite Mads Mikkelsen give the performance of his life in this profound yet playful midlife crisis tale. The winner of an Oscar as well as a BAFTA, its a heady cocktail of ecstasy and grief, buoyed by a superb ensemble cast.

Mikkelsen, a bored high school teacher who, like his closest colleagues, feels that his glass is now half empty, embarks on a reckless experiment to see if  daytime drinking can help all of them live again. Perhaps inevitably, the positive results that they experience to begin with are replaced by a precarious balancing act as they spiral towards self-destruction.

The film is a brilliantly ambiguous affair, ultimately raising a toast to the redemptive power of cinema.
